Tsuchigumo (earth spider)

Attributes: Shapeshifters, Yokai, tricksters

They appear to people having the faces of Oni, body of tigers and legs of a spider. They live in the mountains where they insnare humans. They are shapeshifters and use this power to trick people into following them so they can capture and eat them.

Legend has it that when Yorimitsu cut off a spider's head during battle that the skulls of 1,990 humans spilled out of the spider's stomach. It is for this reason they are often depicted with skulls on their backs.
