Mission
Red Crowed Tattoo Studio is named after the Japanese Red Crowned Crane, a symbol of fidelity, loyalty and love.
The goal of Red Crowned Tattoo is to connect us with others that are interested in quality tattoos. We strive to be creative, informed and original. Our artists want to welcome you into our space and hope to give you an experience and ultimately a tattoo you will be able to wear with pride for the rest of your life.
We hope the website and the resources herein about Japanese tattoos will be used by potential clients to educate themselves about Japanese tattoos and their meanings before making appointments. We also hope that others who might find this website from near and far, both artists and clients alike, might find it useful in their search to understand more about not just Japanese tattoos but the culture and history as it relates to this art form. The Vajra
In the tantric traditions of both Buddhism and Hinduism, the Vajra is a symbol for the nature of reality or “sunyata”, indicating endless creativity, potency, and skillful activity. According to Buddhist mythology, the Vajra destroys all kinds of ignorance, and is itself indestructible.
The Vajra symbolizes the striking and irresistible force that leads to an abrupt transformation in human consciousness resulting in the attainment of enlightenment. Thus, it is essentially representative of the powerful, indestructible, indomitable, impenetrable, immutable, enduring and eternal state of enlightenment.
