Camellia (tsu baki)
Meaning: Love, Passion, Longing, Desire, Gratitude, Devotion, Purity
This flower holds many meanings besides just being beautiful and they can fluctuate depending on the color. They are a well respected flower in Japan and though they are not the most commonly seen flower in traditional Japanese tattoos, maybe that makes them even more appealing.
The flower can represent perfection, faithfulness or devotion depending on the color. In Japan it is often used in religious ceremonies. In Korea it is seen as a symbol of faithfulness. In England it was sent to someone as a sign of affection.
Pink- can represent the pain someone feels when a loved one has passed and is given to someone who is missed.
Red- as with many flowers red represents the heart and love, specifically romantic love, passion, longing and desire.
White- represents good luck and purity. It can also represent the love between mother and child or a general admiration for someone.
