Baku. The nightmare eaters. Folklore has it that if you ask the Baku will protect you from nightmares and evil spirits while you sleep. It’s appearance is basically a shishi or (foo-lion) with the head of an elephant. It is important not to ask the baku to protect you too often though as crying wolf could lead to it turning on you.
